RIVFIT - CROSSFIT 2650 WAS BORN FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

OUR GYM
CrossFit 2650 (CF2650) was established in 2011 and was owned and operated by Kym and Adam Newton. CF2650 was one of the first CrossFit Affilated  gyms in Wagga Wagga and have been a foundational platform for developing the CrossFit program in the riverina region. We were a grassroots affiliate that started in some of the early days of CrossFit.
2015 saw a change of ownership with Mathew  and Nicole Young. With this a new name was developed with our three core meaings in mind (Respect, Integrity, Vitality) RIVFIT - CrossFit 2650. 
We will always continue to stay true to the core concepts developed by CrossFit. It's been an incredible journey to seeing the lives of hundreds of people who have come through our doors change. Our coachs feel very previgled to have been apart of everyones life changing experinces as they walk through the doors. Seeing smiles on peoples faces as they gain there frist achievement and then going on to concure there fears. We believe in family and have all the time in the world for our extend family. 

Located at Unit 7, 73 Dobney Avenue, our gym is a 100% purpose built CrossFit training facility.  We have 300 square meters of space, an on site change room, child room and all the required equipment to deliver the CrossFit program.

We have chalk, we make noise, we know everyone by name, we sweat, we strain, we laugh and we train hard.  We have a very social membership base.

A Little bit about me:
I was introduced to crossfit in 2013 were I soon became hooked. It started out as a way for me to get fitter and to lose weight. I had tried many different methods but was unmotivated.
When I started Crossfit I weighed in at 120kg. The Achievements that I have had since starting in mid 2013 have been losing 25kg and going down in clothing size by 2 and being able to lift weights I never thought possible as well as being able to run faster and for longer.
I have always been interested in how I could better myself and others. This is were I decided to get my CrossFit Level 1 Trainers certificate so that I could then pass my passion on to others. I will say I don’t know everything and that I am still learning everyday and that my journey is far from complete.
My belief in crossfit is from results that I have achieved and belief that everyone can find the same achievements for themselves with the accountability and measurements. The best thing about crossfit is it is adjustable for everyone and there is no move that can not be modified for the individual.
All I can say is come in and join me and see why I love it so much and why I will always do crossfit.

A Little bit about me:
My name is Jill, and I am a Mum of 2 amazing children.
I started my CrossFit journey in September 2012, 4 months after the birth of our second child.
I have always been reasonably active in my life and love playing netball. I have tried your mainstream gym and went to classes they offered, I always ended up finding excuses not to go. It was hard to take the kids, I got bored and I found it really hard to motivate myself to go and I would never see any results. It was my best friend who introduced me to CrossFit, I had never heard of it before being dragged into Crossfit2650. I can still remember the night I walked through the doors for my Intro. It was just as a session had ended and there were people lying on the floor looking as though they were dying, I looked at my friend and we were so close to walking straight back out the door. I was petrified. But I am so glad I didn’t. That night was the start of a love and passion for fitness and CrossFit that I never thought I would ever have.
CrossFit is extremely addictive, very challenging; you never get bored because of the variety and is for absolutely anyone. The changes it has made for me both physically and mentally are amazing, I can tackle the day with a clearer head after any session and I am fitter and stronger than I ever thought possible, and I continue to improve each and every day. I am still amazed to this day at how much my body can do. I love that I can bring my kids everyday and that I can inspire them to lead healthier lives.
The thoughts of becoming a trainer started about 8 months into my journey. At around 12 months I stuck around after a WOD to watch Coach Kym do her workout, I watched her tackle her weaknesses, I watched her struggle, I watched her to the point of tears and I watched her almost give up. I decided to give her the encouragement and the extra little push that she gives us each session, and I helped her get through a workout that she was really struggling with. After helping her that day, that was when it was sealed in my mind that this is what I am meant to be doing with my life.I love helping people and I love seeing the look on faces when people achieve something they never thought was possible. I look forward to expanding my knowledge and introducing more people to the awesome world of CrossFit.

 After training via many different methods in my working career, I found I had stagnated with my fitness. It was at this stage I posted to Wagga, and was introduced to Crossfit. From the first workout I was amazed at how such a short workout could achieve so much. Within a short time frame my overall strength and endurance had increased, and my outlook on fitness had been completely changed. I am extremely passionate about coaching, and love to get the best performance out of every member, wether they be a first time or a seasoned veteran. The most rewarding part for me is seeing people achieve goals and lift weights that they previously thought impossible.
